She was looking for an answer
I tell her she is a dancer
She replied,”I don’t know how”
Nonsense that is like a cat that can’t meow
And if you don’t try how can you tell?
So as the dark and light meet
The sky goes from indigo to peach
On the side of a hill where the grass is dark green
Tasting the sweetness of the scene
That gradually gives way to stars representing all the possibilities
Just listen to the drums of heart beats
And the wind through the trees, a peaceful melody
Now dance, give way to the idyllic feeling
But she stays silent standing
So I tell her our pupils are like infinity
The doors to our minds, our souls so deep
We only need our eyes to read
She looked at me, smiled and questioned, “anything?”
With her eyes like diamonds twinkling
Like they belong in the sky, stars to give life to everything
But still she is searching
As she takes a drag from the cig in her hand
Closing her eyes in a satisfied manner as if it’s the best she’s ever had
PushingHer Lips inward gently holding the end
The ember causing a conflagration in my head
Burning a deep illuminating red
Giving life to me with every breath
I guess beauty must be imperfect
Then she looks at me and says, “we could keep searching but I would rather dance instead”
I just nod and enjoy it
